On Tuesday, August 27th, a Tesla Cybertruck caught fire in Harlingen, Texas, after hitting a fire hydrant. Firefighters reported it took over an hour to put out the blaze, which was fueled by damage to the battery. The incident involved no other vehicles, and the occupants escaped unharmed. While it’s unclear how the driver struck the hydrant, firefighters believe the water spray caused significant battery damage, sparking a thermal fire that proved difficult to extinguish.
