I just purchased a used, 1 owner (4400 miles: 4 months) ev truck 2 days ago. They told me to bring it to my local dealer to have this done, which I did today. The update wouldn’t take and the truck lost its brakes. They’re awaiting gm experts to advise which may not be until next week. Anybody else experience issues with this update and what was your experience? Are the “experts” available on weekends (fingers crossed). Love the truck, but I’m not happy rn.

I’m told they’ll need to replace a brake module which won’t come until Jan 14th(3 weeks from now). Talk about disappointment. Within 48 hours of purchase I’ve lost my expensive vehicle for almost a month. The kicker is I haven’t been able to reach anyone at GM to speak with after hours of trying. This is the worst case scenario and right before the holidays as well. From excitement to total heartbreak in a day and a half. I traded my favorite truck ever for this thing and now I’m stuck riding in a Chevy Malibu for a month all in less than 2 days after purchase. What a joke.

Ugh, I am so sorry to hear this! Unfortunately, these things happen. I bought my wife a brand new Defender, and after a couple of months of ownership, it left us stranded on the way to see Santa last year. After months of trying to diagnose the issue, they discovered it was a faulty brake module. I came close to selling it, but after the car was fixed, it was great, and I'm glad I didn't sell it. It just took time to work out some of the bugs. I hear lots of great things about the Hummer, and I think you will like it once they fix it. It's just really crappy timing and sucks when you have paid so much for a vehicle. I can attest, however, that it can happen to just about any new car out there these days.
